A standard center fold can run directly through a hoodie’s main artwork. Changing where the fabric turns helps keep the graphic from becoming the storage hinge every time.
Find the artwork boundary first
Lay the clean, fully dry hoodie face down or face up according to where the graphic sits. Smooth it without stretching. Identify the outer edges of the artwork and imagine a clear margin around them.
Fold the sleeves inward so their cuffs do not create a hard lump behind the graphic. Bring the side seams toward the center only until the fold lines sit outside the artwork boundary. If the graphic spans nearly the full width, use a loose roll or a wider storage space rather than forcing narrow thirds.
Choose the final turn
Instead of folding exactly across the center of the image, place the horizontal turn above or below its main focal area. A sheet of clean, smooth tissue or another suitable barrier can reduce face-to-face rubbing when the garment instructions allow it.
The reopen check
Leave the hoodie folded for ten minutes, then open it. If a sharp line crosses the main image, shift the turn several centimetres and try again. If the fold creates bulky pressure, reduce the stack height in the drawer.
For example, a large chest graphic may work best with side folds just beyond the print and a final fold below the artwork, leaving the image on the top panel. A back graphic may require the opposite orientation.
Alternate the final fold direction occasionally if drawer space allows, rather than reinforcing the identical bend after every wear. When hanging is permitted by the garment care guidance and storage setup, compare that option with folding for longer intervals.
